Some sights around the neighbourhood

The phone booth is more popular here than in the United States and all phone booths here appear to be owned by Telstra.

Justin outside of our local bottle shop (liquor store.)  The owner (who is originally from China) is so friendly and I love how he is curious about the differences between the United States and Australia.  We love chatting with him!  We also love the fact that the shop is open from 9:00am to 8:30pm... every single day of the week.  It should be noted that those are the "winter hours," so I am wondering if the summer hours are even longer.

Pedestrian crossing, not to be confused with disembodied legs

Some other shops just around the corner, including, but not limited to: a Greek barbershop ("Adonis" is the shop's name... how cool is that?), a Foodworks (grocery store chain), a tailor, an office supplies shop, a milk bar (of course), a chippy (fish and chips shop), and a Turkish grocery store that houses an amazing supply of grains, olives, baklava, and nuts (pistachios... mmm...)

You can see the Dandenong Mountain range in the background here.  The mountains are  about 20 miles away from the city and you can get there by train.

The famous Melbourne tram! My tram line is a block and a half from my house.  It'll be useful in the summer, as the 112 goes right to the beach!
