A few photos from the first few weeks

Here's Justin and his parents, at MSP on July 12th, 2011

My and my folks

Fish 'N Chips on the floor at Elizabeth's... an Aussie tradition, or so I am told.  This was from our first night here.  When you travel to Australia from the United States, you arrive there two days later, due to the long plane rides (from Minneapolis, it's like, 20 hours in total on airplanes alone, not counting any layover time at airports!) and Australia being so far ahead, time-wise.  I remember that after dinner, I took what felt like the best shower of my life, then immediately fell asleep at 8:00 or something.

Some good-looking tree in Elizabeth's suburb of Kensington.  Kensington used to be where the "stockmarket" (stockyard, in American English) was located and there are cool little reminders of this (such as the hitching post you see) all around.  Kensington is right next to the suburb of Flemington, which is world-famous for The Melbourne Cup horse races.

Here's Elizabeth's living room/our "bedroom" for our first two weeks here.   It often felt like a big sleepover during the evenings when we'd watch a movie or t.v.  Elizabeth even bought us popcorn and ice cream... such a good hostess on so many levels!
