We spent a sunny, Sunday afternoon in Williamstown, which is a seaside Melburnian suburb. To reach it by train, it only takes an hour each way. The journey is well worth it... is there anything better than that sea breeze hitting your face once you reach the shore? The ocean is amazing... I'm so pleased that our planet mostly comprised of water. You go, Planet Earth!

I was serious about documentation for this day trip... Here's Justin locking the front door. |

Here's me, being all comically sultry, inviting the viewer to step outside our (always unlocked, seemingly... grr...) gate to come and travel with us! |

To get there: We took the tram to Parliament (Train) Station. This particular platform is under another platform, which always makes me wonder what's going on above me. Good thing I'm not claustrophobic. The only train that ever makes me claustrophobic is the Waterloo line in London, which has you going under the Thames. Anyway, here I am, going off track, as usual. (No pun intended! Ha ha!) Okay, so, you catch the train at Parliament and disembark at Newport station. Then, your final train is Newport to Williamstown. |

Williamstown, home of the coolest drinking fountain in the world |

The port: notice the city in the background |

Black swans! These are a pretty common sight here. I have yet to see a white swan. |

I have a collection of photos taken from around the world where I am hugging giant ice cream cones. These things are a lot more common than one would think. I will say though that the most popular place for giant ice cream cones, in my travels at least, has been Europe. However, if you keep your eyes peeled, you will find them everywhere! |

Here's the other side of Williamstown. You can see some pretty impressive freighters out here. Also, you can see Mornington Peninsula in the far background. Further down the shore from this photo is Williamstown's sandy beach. We didn't make it there since it is still pretty chilly to go swimming. |

Fish and chips done properly! I'm convinced the only place you can get amazing fish and chips is right by the ocean, in nearly any country in the world. (Exception being the UK... you can get great fish and chips pretty far inland there.) The deep fry to this fish was perfection... crunchy, oily, done right. I was tempted to ask if I could order some extra fried coating. It was that good. Tarter sauce and lemon are typically included with the package too. Major standout from Australian fish and chips compared to other fish and chips? Malt vinegar is not as common. It's easy to obtain at the supermarket though. |

If you want avian company at your table, you are destined to get it! |

I can never fit in the entire skyline! |

What a great motto! |

The train station at Yarraville, on our way back to the city
I really dig that old-school style of some of the smaller train stations here. |
